Our FAW course in Weedon, Northamptonshire meets all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements and can be undertaken at our Weedon Training Centre where new First Aid training courses start weekly and also run at weekends.
The first aid at work 3 day course is for you if you are seeking a role as a first aider in the workplace or if you need to refresh your existing fist aid qualification and competence.
All organisations are required to provide for first aid requirements in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid Regulations 1981 and where a need is identified through a risk assessment. The Goldcross FAW training course meets HSE specifications and provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to operate as certified First Aider’s enabling them to deliver promt and effective primary treatment to casualties and where necessary deal with an emergency situation until such times as the emergency services arrive.
The First Aid at Work Certificate (commonly known as FAW) enables individuals to deliver emergency treatment in the event of an individual injuring themselves or falling ill within the workplace or any other setting.
This FAW course is designed for workplaces that fall into a higher risk categories such as: construction, engineering, manufacturing, chemicals, warehousing, etc and for any workplace where employees may be at risk of underlying health conditions i.e. diabetes, anaphylaxis, high blood pressure, heart problems, etc.
This three day (18 hour) duration FAW Training course is designed to be undertaken by any individual operating in a regulated role as a first aider in a work place setting. The qualification is however equally applicable for those individuals who provide for voluntary activities such as: charities, voluntary, children and youth organisations, etc.
The Goldcross EFAW training programme utilises a variety of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individuals and upon completion delegates will have a greater understanding of the requirements in delivering emergency first aid at work to the appropriate level.

The HSE require all delegates to complete a minimum of 18 hours training in order to achieve accredtation and delegates must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Assessment is achieved via continuous tutor observation and questioning throughout the course. On successful completion of the First Aid At Work (FAW) Course you will receive a certificate valid for three years from the date of completion.
