Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
Ofqual Accredited – Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) Level 3
Tel: 0203 633 5505
Mon-Fri: 07:30-18:00
Our two day Supervising First Aid for Mental Health course is delivered by our specialist in-house qualified and experienced course instructors, through a minimum of 12 hours of classroom based theory and practical instruction.
The course is aimed at providing delegates with the skills and knowledge to start a supportive conversation, recognise a range of suspected mental health conditions, and be able to signpost an individual towards appropriate professional help.
On completion of the course delegates will be aware of how to recognise and manage stress, and understand the impact of substance abuse. They will learn about ‘first aid action plans’ for mental health and their implementation. Importantly they will be aware of the importance of building and maintaining a positive mental health culture in the workplace.
The course is suitable for any individual seeking to gain a greater understanding of mental health or with a requirement to provide advice and practical support to their collegues in the workplace. The primary aim of the course is to provide delegates with the resources and knowledge to enable them to identify signs of stress and other mental health conditions, allowing them to guide individuals towards the correct support.
Employers and delegates should note that this training does not provide for the diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions which should only be carried out by the requisite healthcare professionals.
Goldcross Training runs this course frequently to meet the needs of its delegates and we understand that many individuals cannot afford to take time off during the week, for this reason you will find this half day course runs both during the week and at weekends.
New courses start weekly at one of our six Training Centre’s throughout Central & South East England and we are able to provide for in-house courses at your organisations venue should that be preferable.
