Mental Health First Aid Courses
Mental health impacts an individuals emotional, psychological, and social well-being, affects how they think, feel, and act and influences how they handle stress, the way they relate to others, and the choices they make. Rarely will an individuals mental health be continuously good and it is likely to fluctuate dependent upon the pressures and/or experiences they are facing in their life; both at work and at home. Individuals may therefore generally have good mental health but also experience stress or anxiety periodically.
The UK Department of Health advises that an estimated one in four individuals will experience mental ill health at some point in their lives. It is therefore of vital importance that employers not only consider mental health within their health and safety policies and procedures, but that they also take the necessary steps to promote positive mental health and support to those experiencing mental ill health within their organisations.
